wow! How 4 years can change your opinions. Not sure I'd recommend Gallery2 anymore. It's a real pain to setup, difficult to integrate with wordpress and a bit dangerous to host due to all the binary executables you need to run with it.

I must say, I came around on Flickr and am a happy user there. But I understand (and share!) many of the concerns of "keeping your stuff in the cloud".

good luck!

Thanks everyone. I too am a Mac user, blogging with WP (ex-iBlogger), and using iPhoto. But getting the two together has been a recent quest of mine.

Up until now, I've been using the very great (and free!) gallery app Galerie. It works very tightly with iPhoto but makes flat HTML files. I don't know how to incorporate its results into a WP blog. You can see my Galerie produced photos on my blog, under the "Photos" page link under the banner.

hi bhamm,

I checked out Photon and did a little write-up on it last week. It's not bad, but more of a photoblog plugin than a gallery plugin. It's limited, but if all you want is to post the occasional picture from iPhoto, it's not bad.

yes, dave..

there are a lot (ok, at least 1) of Mac users using WordPress. In fact, i launched my own blog (officially) just last night, and was looking for a way to get stuff out of iPhoto into WP without resorting to flickr.

i'm going to read up on Photon in the meantime. If you, or anyone else, hears about iPhoto > WP tools.. give me a shout!

thx

Couldn't agree with you more. I love WordPress (although I've only been playing with it for a week) and really dislike Flickr. It'd be great if there was a plugin to get photos from iPhoto to WordPress. This definitely won't come from Apple, as they are already tied to publishing photos through the .mac end of things. I find .mac too expensive and too limiting.

I wonder, are there a lot of Mac users who also use WordPress?
