TeamSpeex
at long last, that thing that forces me to keep a crappy and ancient PII-powered Dell laptop on my coffee table, spilling wires over my table and floor may now finally be able to leave the living-room. Savvy from the Netherlands has done what the originators of TeamSpeak have promised and not delivered: created a Mac OS X version of the client called: TeamSpeex.
The software is still in closed beta so I haven’t had a chance to look at it yet, but he promised (*wink*) to have it out this weekend in a public format. Current limitations appear to be push-to-talk only so it might be awhile before I can get that craptop off my table, but I’m still eagerly looking-forward to trying it out on both machines. Also, he says the initial beta is going to be Tiger only.
Works for me…

Update! It looks like savvy’s released the public demo. His site is currently being hosed, but be patient. It should be working soon. Just go gently on his server…
Savvy, if you can hear me, I will gladly mirror your beta for you.
