(Xbox 360 + iPod + AAC) / AAC Plugin == Cool Music
Awhile back I posted a note about the Xbox 360 not being able to playback unencrypted AAC files. Well, I wanted to update that Microsoft has posted a free plugin on the Xbox Live Marketplace that enables this. I’ve installed the update, wiped my iPod and restored it to Mac HFS format and moved all my AAC files onto it and it works perfectly. No more “No Smoking” signs.
Another note is that Microsoft has updated Windows Media Connect to version 2.0. The software is also available through Windows Update. I haven’t tried this yet, but it claims to be able to stream movies which didn’t seem to work with version 1. At least, I couldn’t get it to work.
Finally, I would like to say that the crew at DOACentral are a classy bunch. After a bit of a kerfuffle about 1up.com plagiarizing DOAC’s Dead or Alive 4 strategy guide, DOAC posted a nice note that 1up had changed their article and given credit:
Upon receiving this acknowledgment in their DoA4 guide, DoACentral would like to express their gratitude to 1up.com and that no resentment will be fostered.
Pretty sweet, guys.
